Name: Lecayle Hubert
Title: Sr. Customer Education Manager
Residence: I moved to Grand Forks, BC (not the Grand Forks in North Dakota)!
Hometown: I grew up in Richmond, BC!

Lecayle’s journey with Visier started nearly 5 years ago when an ex-colleague sent her the job description and said, “This is you!”

Naturally, she looked into it and watched Dave Weisbeck’s presentation on workforce planning on YouTube and she was hooked. Compelled by the narrative and by Visier’s innovative technology, she knew she had to be part of Visier.

“I love that we’re able to get answers to the right questions at the right time and avoid decisions based on gut-feel,” Lecayle says. “Visier helps by making sure that customers have the right people for the right roles, based on data, which makes it fairer.”

At Visier, Lecayle loves helping our customers learn how to apply Visier to their business problems and ensure they receive data-driven value from our solution. Her enthusiasm for helping customers is infectious!

Fun Fact: If you’ve ever used Visier before, you might have noticed a helper on the bottom right of your screen. That’s Lecayle!

Let’s dive deeper into Lecayle’s work and her life:

Work

What brings you to work?

I work with such an incredible team of people! I have such motivated co-workers and their energy is awesome.

I live for the opportunity to help our customers and get to know them better. A customer told me that “Visier was a joy to use,” and that continuously motivates me. I get excited whenever a customer explains why they love Visier so much.

Wow! What’s your best tip for customers?

I have several tips! If you’re just starting with Visier, the best place to start is with our Guidebooks. It has almost everything you need to learn about what Visier can do and how to do it.

The best way to make a new analysis is to start with an existing one, then customize it.

Participate in the Visier community and their discussions. You can get direct help from me and my team, and from other customers.

Are you working towards any career goals right now?

I’m constantly thinking about different ways I can better develop myself, so I can contribute more to our customers.

One of the things I’m really passionate about is change management and recently, I received my certification in change management from Prosci. My 18-month goal is to take a certification course in change management at Royal Roads University or Simon Fraser University.

What Visier feature do you think is super cool?

There’s so much that’s super cool about what Visier can do. If I had to pick one, I’d pick the “Career Path” function because it allows us to take a single employee and develop them, based on what’s happened in the past and what their current situation is like. You can plan their career path 5 to 10 years in the future, and we have ways to recommend a path for them based on what’s already happened.

Life

What was the best piece of advice you were ever given and who was it from?

Dave Weisbeck, our Chief Strategy Officer, gave me a piece of advice during my first year at Visier that I find myself saying often.

“Everything is easy for the ignorant.”

DAVE WEISBECK, CSO

Sometimes we don’t have all the information about what is needed to do something or the capacity of another team or contributor. It’s easy to assume something can be done quickly, but we should ask more questions.

What was the first concert you ever went to and how old were you?

I went to see My Chemical Romance at the Pacific Coliseum when I was 17!

What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?

For context, I live on a farm and I want to learn how to air layer fruit tree limbs!

What are you reading now?

Currently, I’m reading “How Charts Lie: Getting Smarter about Visual Information” by Alberto Cairo. Alberto is a leading data visualization expert and he explores the negative and positive influence that charts have on our perception. I want to read it because Visier is all about data visualization and I’d love to help our customers understand what the best visualization techniques are.
